About Us
Mi Trompito is a line of eco-friendly play clothes launched in 2009. After having trouble finding stylish, yet eco-centric clothes for her daughter, company founder, Gina Engler developed a company to please the needs of both parents and children. Inspiration for the line is her energetic toddler, Sofia, who inspired the company’s name - Mi Trompito. Mi Trompito is not only Sofia’s nickname but also means “little toy top” in Spanish.The innovative children’s clothing line guarantees full flexibility at play due to stretchy organic cotton knits, easily wearable in the playground and beyond. It also allows for children’s growth with unique adjustable features in certain styles - which pleases parents. Mi Trompito's designers in residence program has brought a collaborative team approach to design, bringing the unique perspective of other designers, such as Sofia Bolin and even her own mother, Angelina Guerra de Engler.
With an education background in biology and public health; and a family lineage in design, Gina was inspired to create a socially responsible company, where the majority of the clothing is made from 100% organic cotton. In addition, a portion of Mi Trompito’s profits are donated to nonprofit organizations, dedicated to meet the health and social needs of disadvantaged children worldwide.
